Returning local after a year or so of not dining here. Ordered takeaway chorizo gnocchi in red sauce. It was awful. Full of oil (separated) Full of jar tasting crunch garlic in every bite and the chorizo was more like cabanossi sausage in texture. This dish used to be fantastic. This was not a $27 dish. I will say, the phone order service was great and friendly as expected.

We went on Valentine’s Day for dinner and had a really disappointing experience. We had made a reservation ahead of time, got there at 6pm a bit before the massive rush had hit (restaurant was packed at around 6:30-7pm). We had to ask to get menus, then had to flag someone down to take our order, and didn’t get any water at all. Luckily our entrees came out at a reasonable time, and we were happy with the quality. However, that was the end of the positives. After that we waited, and waited for our mains, even after we followed up with the waiter asking if they could give us a estimated time for our mains, we never got an answer. At first, they tried to re-serve us the entrees we had already had, before we let them know we were actually waiting for our mains. We were waiting for an hour before our mains arrived, and unfortunately the quality was not good. My husband’s steak was extremely overcooked and the sauce indelibly salty. I ordered a pizza which was pretty meh. While we had been waiting we heard many other customers complaining that they had had to wait over an hour for their food as well. My husband was supposed to get a cheesecake slice as part of the set menu, however considering the wait we’d already had for our disappointing mains we decided to cut out our losses and just leave. We understand that Valentine’s Day is one of the busiest nights of the year but it’s obvious they weren’t prepared for it. They needed to either limit menu options, limit seating, or schedule more staff to make it work. It seems like they prioritized quick cash grabs over customer experience, which means we won’t be going back again, even on a quieter night.

Waited for more than an hour for food!Four of us ordered 4 mains and a salad for valentines dinner, they gave us one main dish after an hour, than the second one came half an hour later! This restaurant is so unorganised, food doesn't taste good, we are very disappointed!

Cafe Nocello Success really was a success. Yep sorry totally pun worthy.Food was simply delicious. Desserts were the great finish to a lovely meal and the hot drinks were perfect for a winter's day. Would totally recommend to others and will be going back myself for sure

Came here on Tuesday night for Valentines Day. Arrived at 6.20pm an restaurant was already quite busy but we had a reservation and was seated outside. Sat down an we waited 20 minutes before needing to waive at the waiter for our entree. After placing our entree order we then proceeded to wait 50 minutes before deciding we better order our mains. Once again, needed to waive at the waiter for his attention to place our mains. We reached 7.40pm an after waiting over an hour for our entree roughly 1hr 20 mins we had more than enough. Meanwhile they are more than happy to keep sitting people down at tables yet they can’t even keep up with there current customers that are already seated. Each time we spoke to the manager he just walked off an did not seem to acknowledge our concerns at all… to be honest he seemed stressed enough to worry about us. We finished 2 bottles of wine in the time we waited an left very disappointed. Needless to stay we weren’t impressed. It was also our anniversary so our night was certainly ruined. We have just moved to success and was looking forward to this possibly being our new local restaurant - I am hoping the owner will respond to this acknowledging the disaster that happen that night an may be able to redeem themselves as we do enjoy our Italian an would like to get the benefit of the doubt on a quieter night. Updated review:Recently revisited Cafe Nocello.Food was just as delicious.Was disappointing that the mussels were not available by themselves.Ambiance was great.Unfortunately the wait time was over an hour and our appetisers/mains were not timed well. Though this was obviously caused by being short staffed due to covid. Nothing that could have been helped.We were prepared this time and brought our own wine.The staff were amazing and also handled themselves beautifully when a belligerent and derelict drunk man tried to barge and in cause a stir.Original review:Firstly - did not know it was solely byo. However, the Virginia mojitos were DELICIOUS. Bought the sparkling water and topped them up as we ate & they were still delicious.Arrived at the end of service however the staff were extremely accommodating and friendly.The food was served deliciously fresh and very quickly.All the seafood in the risotto marinara was cooked to perfection. Absolutely amazing. Sincere compliments to the chef!!!!!The ravioli seemed as if it was fresh made-to-order & not pre-made/frozen.Prices were good, especially given serving sizes.
